E-Procurement in the Oil & Gas Industry
Untapped Potential

Of all the elements of the e-business revolution, e-procurement is the strand that has claimed the greatest benefits. Companies like GE and Oracle have both joined the $billion savings club. Indeed Grainger puts the global business case at $1.4 trillion, of which the oil & gas sectors rightful share would be $62 billion. Yet, in 2000, only 1% of B2B expenditure traversed electronic means in the world's most digitally favorable nation, the United States. In this joint study with LOGIC, we asked, "Is e-procurement in the oil & gas industry really an untapped well, or simply another dry hole in the ground?"
